Description

We are looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Writing for Young People to join the Creative Writing team at Bath Spa University. We are keen to recruit someone who is passionate about writing for young people and young adults and who will bring their industry knowledge and expertise as an established author to their teaching and research. (This is a Fixed Term, part-time 0.4 contract from September 2025 - August 2026)

About the Role

Within this role you will be designing and delivering teaching and assessment on our MA Writing for Young People programme as well as contributing to undergraduate teaching and/or short courses in creative writing. The role will also involve managing modules and assessments via the University's virtual learning environment, supporting programme development, and engaging in key activities such as student recruitment and open days.

As part of our Creative Writing community, you will be engaging in relevant research and scholarly activity in support of the university's research strategy, contributing to internal and external networks, and building productive relationships with external partners. You will also be supervising and mentoring colleagues with less experience, advising on their personal development.

Salary Grade - Ac3S - Lecturer Starting from GBP 17,898 per annum pro rata GBP 44,746

Salary Grade - Ac3A - Senior Lecturer - Starting from GBP 19,529 per annum, pro rata GBP 48,823

This is a Fixed Term, part-time 0.4 contract from September 2025 - August 2026
