Job summary

Weston College is seeking a part-time Learning Support Assistant (Apprenticeships) to provide essential learning support to apprentices with SEND, including EHCPs, helping them develop independence and reach their full potential.

The role is term-time only, 40 weeks per year and 15.6 hours per week (roughly 5 hours Tue, 5 hours Wed, 5.6 hours Thu; some flexibility may be available). Interviews will be on-site at Weston-super-Mare campuses.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
• Experience of working within an education or social care setting.
• Knowledge and understanding of learning difficulties and disabilities, and the impact this has on learning.

Responsibilities

• Write and implement high-quality ALS plans for an agreed caseload of apprentices.
• Provide regular 1:1 or small group support to enable learners to overcome barriers to learning.
• Support apprentices to participate in college activities and develop study skills for independent learning.
• Provide personal care/medical support as required for individual apprentices with care plans.
