Teaching Personnelis seeking a dedicated and compassionateLearning Support Assistant (LSA)to join a vibrant primary school in Ilford. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
As aLearning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENDCO to provide tailored support to pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and other additional needs. Your role will include:
Delivering1:1 and small group supportto help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
Assisting with the implementation ofIndividual Education/Behaviour Plans.
Providingpastoral care, including personal care and mealtime support where needed.
Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Supporting classroom activities and promoting an inclusive learning environment.
Essential:
Experience working with children, particularly those with SEND.
Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
A patient, empathetic approach and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Desirable:
NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent.
Training inMakaton,ELKLAN, orPositive Handling.
Experience supporting pupils with hearing impairments or speech and language needs.
