Job Overview

Pinc College is seeking to appoint a Part-time Learner Support across our two Birmingham campuses. The role is for 5 days per week.

Job Type: Permanent, Part-time

Actual Salary for 5 days working 09.00h-15.00h is £21,226.80 per year. Term time only.

Our Learning Support Assistants are a vital part of the team, playing a key role in student progress and wellbeing.

An Overview Of Expectations
  1. Promote our Mission and Guiding Principles.
  2. Undertake a specialist role using appropriate learning strategies, resources, and equipment to meet learning objectives, differentiating tasks for individuals or groups with additional needs.
  3. Demonstrate and model high expectations for progress and achievement.
  4. Implement individual, group, and intervention activities in collaboration with teaching staff, following guidance from the Campus Lead or Teacher.
  5. Support students' regulation and SEND needs to ensure a constructive environment, adhering to policies and Universal strategies.
  6. Adhere to and promote our Habits for Learning, Mission, Vision, and Culture, working within our Pinc Methodology and pedagogy.
  7. Evaluate pupils' responses during activities to determine achievable goals and appropriate scaffolding.
  8. Be aware of individual learner needs through referrals, Pinc reports, and PEP or EHC plans.
  9. Maintain student health and safety, supporting educational tasks and supervised use of tools, equipment, and learning materials.
  10. Prepare and maintain campus resources, including stock control, and participate in campus housekeeping.
  11. Liaise with and report concerns or incidents to the Campus Lead or Safeguarding Lead to ensure student wellbeing.
  12. Participate in creative activities with learners to model behavior and inspire progress.
  13. Document learner work and progress digitally, sharing via social media to celebrate achievements.
  14. Attend staff meetings and participate in team training and reviews.
PINC Higher Level Teaching Assistant

In addition to support duties, you will conduct one-to-one and small group sessions, leveraging your creative expertise to impact learning. You are not required to hold QTS or plan and mark in line with the National Curriculum. Experience leading teams within Further Education and a strong background in SEND are essential. You do not need to be a qualified teacher.
