Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a permanent part-time swimming teacher to deliver Learn to Swim lessons and KS1-2 school sessions in partnership with Chorley Council and South Ribble Borough Council. Up to 15 hours per week, following Swim England framework.

You will plan progressive lessons, assess progress, and act as a positive ambassador for swimmers. DBS check required; benefits include pension, healthcare, free gym access and volunteering days.

Qualifications

• Swim England Level 2 or STA Level 2 required.
• Experience delivering lessons to varied ages and abilities.
• DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver swimming lessons aligned with Swim England Learn to Swim criteria and National Curriculum KS1/2.
• Teach pupils of all ages and abilities, adapting to individual needs including SEND.
• Plan, prepare and deliver structured, progressive lesson plans across ability groups.
• Assess each swimmer's progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Act as a role model and ambassador for swimmers, ensuring quality lessons and a positive experience.
