Job description

A leading business in Market Weighton is seeking an experienced accountant to help them for an initial 6 months on a part time basis (c2-3 days per week).

Reporting to a supportive FD, the role will support the Management Accounts Team in providing high quality analysis and business requirements and helping to drive the business’s overall management and strategy.

Key tasks will include:

• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring completion within 7 working days

• Produce accurate and timely management accounts

• Support budgeting and forecasting activities

• Maintain and reconcile purchase and sales ledgers

• Prepare and post accruals and prepayments

• Manage and review nominal ledger entries

• Complete VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations

• Oversee stock accounting and liaise with operations/manufacturing teams

• Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and queries

• Assist with internal and external audits
