Job summary

Avon and Somerset Police is seeking an Intelligence Support Officer to join the Intelligence Management Unit. The role supports assessors and Intelligence Officers, enhancing partnership work with regional forces and mitigating intelligence failures.

The post focuses on admin, vetting, records management and timely dissemination of intelligence products to local forces. The position is part-time (30 hours/week) based in Exeter or Plymouth, with mandatory NSV/SC(e) clearance and potential DV

Qualifications

• Must have 5 year 'checkable history' in the UK.
• National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level required.
• Developed Vetting (DV) may be required in post.

Responsibilities

• Undertake admin/management for allocated Regional nominals and provide general administrative support as directed by the Intelligence Supervisor.
• Create Operations where applicable, including administration of the Operational set up agenda.
• Carry out vetting checks and NCIA checks on adverse hits from Force vetting and firearms licensing requests as directed.
• Administer the Protections of Freedoms Act referrals.
• Manage Records in line with relevant protocols.
• Disseminate appropriate intelligence products to local Forces via Niche.
• Create briefing slides/products for Force Intelligence systems and local officer briefings.
• Assess ANPR enquiries and make recommendations.
• Conduct research and create low-level Subject profiles.
• Facilitate access/egress for visitors to secure department estates.
