Job summary

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a registered Staff Nurse in palliative care on a 9-month fixed-term, 22.5 hours per week. The role offers flexible, part-time hours across early, late, night, and weekend shifts within an NHS hospice setting.

The successful candidate will be a First level Adult Registered Nurse with an interest in palliative care, join a 10-bed unit, and contribute to high-quality symptom management and family-centred care.

Qualifications

• Registration as a First level Adult Nurse with NMC.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Degree in Palliative care or related modules.
• Experience in specialist palliative care needs within a clinical setting.
• Experience in multidisciplinary team environment.
• Specialist Palliative Care/Oncology or related field experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care including activities of daily living, symptom assessment and medication administration.
• Work as part of the MDT to support care decisions in the patient’s pathway.
• Support patients and relatives through illness and end-of-life care.
• Support training of nurse associates and students.
• Maintain high standards of care aligned with NICE and local guidance.
• Maintain NMC registration and adhere to professional codes.
