Hinchley Wood Primary School is offering an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team for a pilot project during the Autumn 2025 term.

As HLTA, you will lead bespoke play-based, practical, or catch-up sessions for small groups of SEND children, playing a key role in both academic progress and building confidence by providing a nurturing environment.

We are looking for a confident and experienced individual with a flexible, positive approach, who is committed to delivering engaging learning experiences that support the whole child. SEND experience along with initiative, and a strong ability to connect with children are essential. Please refer to the Job Description for the full person specification and role requirements.

Our pupils are enthusiastic, engaged learners, and this was reflected in our most recent Ofsted report (March 2024), which also praised our approach to staff development and SEND support.

“Workload and well-being are carefully considered. Training opportunities, in school and across the trust, ensure that staff expertise is routinely developed.”

This is a fantastic time to be part of our school and the wider Trust as we continue to grow and develop our provision, helping every child reach their potential.

We offer:

  • Family-friendly term time working
  • Competitive salary and annual performance progression
  • Professional development support
  • Two weeks’ autumn half term
  • Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
  • Personal Business Day

The successful candidate will be well supported, working alongside a passionate and committed team. The working pattern for this role is 8:30am–12:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. Actual starting salary for 20 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks) is £12,745 p.a.

Application deadline: Friday 10th October 2025 (9am)

Early enquiries and applications encouraged and we reserve the right to interview and appoint prior to the advert deadline.

Hinchley Wood Learning Partnership (HWLP) is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
