Part-time
Queen Margaret’s School for Girls is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and proactive SENCO to lead the Special Educational Needs (SEND) provision at the school effectively and efficiently.
We employ around 150 staff, most of whom live within 30-45 minutes of the school, including areas like York, Hull, Leeds, and Harrogate. Staff involved in boarding live on site. We operate our own salary scale, and all staff contribute to a pension scheme. During term time, meals are provided when on duty. Working in a boarding school offers a unique experience with a strong sense of community and opportunities to get to know both girls and staff intimately. Our lessons include Saturday mornings, and our term dates are shorter than those in the state sector, though we generally follow local authority half-term dates to support staff with school-aged children.
Queen Margaret’s School for Girls is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and proactive SENCO to lead the SEND provision from September 2025 or January 2026. This is a part-time position (0.5 FTE) with potential to increase hours and possibly offer a second subject.
All applicants must complete the school's official application form available at our website. The application should include a full career history, and the names and contact details of two referees. Completed forms should be sent to recruitment@queenmargarets.com.
