About the Role:
As the Head of Finance, you will be the key financial decision-maker in the organisation, responsible for both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning. Your role will include:
- Full ownership of thefinance function, reporting directly to the CEO
- Preparation and presentation ofmonthly management accountsandboard-level financial papers
- Oversight ofbank reconciliations,payroll, andcash flow management
- Leading theannual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring compliance
- Attending and contributing toBoard meetings, offering clear financial insights and recommendations
- Working closely with the CEOto identify and assessgrowth opportunities, investment decisions, and financial strategy
- Managing and mentoring a small finance team, includingtwo Accounts Assistants
- This is a hands-on role that combines operational excellence with strategic leadership. You’ll be instrumental in shaping financial policy, improving systems and processes, and supporting the organisation’s growth ambitions.
About You:
- Fully qualified accountant(ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) – essential
- Demonstrated experience in a senior finance role, ideally within an SME or entrepreneurial environment
- Strong technical accounting skills with a commercial mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently and leading a small team
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a passion for driving improvement and growth
