Job summary

Topcliffe Surgery is seeking a part-time dispenser to join the dispensing team in a rural practice serving around 4,400 patients. The role focuses on accurate medicine supply, stock control, and timely prescription processing, with patient queries handled efficiently.

With 20 hours per week across a Wednesday morning, Thursday all day, and a Friday afternoon, there is flexibility to cover absences. NVQ2 in dispensing is required and GP dispensary experience with SystmOne is desirable.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in dispensing is required.
• GP dispensary experience and SystmOne skills are desirable.
• Dispense medicines to patients accurately and safely, and handle prescriptions promptly.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medicines to patients safely and accurately
• Collect prescription charges in line with dispensary protocol
• Maintain dispensary stock levels
• Order, receive and store medication under current policy, keeping the cold chain where needed
• Dispose safely of returned and out-of-date medication
• Process prescriptions within practice time frames
• Advise patients on prescription matters and resolve problems and enquiries
• Keep the dispensary clean, organised and efficient
