Job description

Part Time Full-stack Developer - Perfect for a Master's Student

Kintek Greater London, England, United Kingdom

Kintek provides cutting-edge technology to companies and we also build businesses from the ground up. We created megamac.com - an Apple accessories & upgrades e-commerce store, thegrowthclinic.co.uk - a modern London-based hair loss clinic, and are now developing Cove – an advanced health company that helps people proactively optimise their health, reverse and prevent chronic illness, and live longer, happier lives.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Kintek as we continue to grow our existing businesses, MegaMac and the Growth Clinic, while building Cove – our new health company focused on transforming the future of healthcare.

At the moment, we’re a small, tight-knit team that works together to solve big problems. We innovate quickly, work efficiently, and have a lot of fun.

Role and Responsibilities:

You'll assist with all of the technical and development activities for Cove as we prepare for our official launch while helping in maintaining our two already existing websites: megamac.com & thegrowthclinic.co.uk. In the coming months, your main focus will be working on the Cove’s core platform, implementing both front- and back-end functionality, and ensuring a flawless user experience. Working closely with our team, you’ll help shape the business, and your work will have a direct and powerful impact on our growth. We're looking for someone who’s capable of driving results.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Graduated with a Bachelor’s in computer science or related degree
  • Currently a master’s student, with availability to work in the office 2-2.5 days a week. We understand your studies are your priority, and will work with you on the schedule that suits you best.
  • Experience with full-stack development, including front-end (React, Vue) and back-end (Node.js, Python) technologies - ~2+ years
  • Proficient in database management (SQL, NoSQL) and secure server-side development
  • Experience in writing automated tests
  • Experience deploying code to cloud production environments
  • Experience monitoring code in production environments
  • Skilled with Git and version control
  • Obsessed with user-focused, intuitive design and functionality
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong documentation skills
  • Able to create clear, actionable GitHub issues
  • Delivery driven & can deliver fast

Full-Stack Development Skills:

  • Design Implementation: Convert high-fidelity designs into fast, functional pages with optimal UI/UX.
  • Responsive Design: Ensure flawless performance across all devices and screen sizes.
  • Performance Optimisation: Maximise speed through asset compression, caching, and code optimisation.
  • Database Management: Build and maintain secure, high-performance databases.
  • API Development: Develop efficient APIs for seamless front-end and back-end integration.
  • App Development: Develop an iOS app for our customers.
  • Payments Integration: Implement various payment systems (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).

Personal Qualities:

  • A strategic thinker, who sees both the big picture and the smaller underlying mechanics.
  • An entrepreneurial mind, ready to launch and fail and iterate.
  • A hands-on problem solver, self-motivated with a glass half-full attitude.
  • Passion for health, wellness, nutrition and a strong desire to achieve success in life.
  • A desire to help build an early-stage healthcare company focused on helping people optimise their health and live longer.

Practicalities:

  • This is a part-time role. We work in the office in Shoreditch, Central London and we’ll want you to come in at least 2-2.5 days per week – when culture lines up, it is fun to be in the office together.
  • Salary: £13.95 per hour.
  • Location: FORA Brick Lane, 42-46 Princelet Street, London.

Application:

The application process includes:

  • Video interviewing screening (10 min)
  • Initial video call with our Manager so we can get to know you better and give you a chance to ask any questions about the role (15 min)
  • In-person small development task to give you a flavour of our team and offices (1 hour)
  • In-person interview with the Founder & Manager (1 hour)
  • Reference checks

We’re excited to meet you!
