Part Time Freight Train Manager - Liverpool

Are you a Fully Qualified Freight Train Driver seeking a part-time role, or a part-time driver looking for a change?

We offer an exciting opportunity to work an average of 2 days per week, with full-time work during the autumn and winter months, and time off in spring and summer.

GB Railfreight is a growing and successful business. We are expanding geographically and diversifying our traffic. If you are a fully qualified Freight Train Driver, consider registering your interest to embark on a new challenge with a profitable and sustainable business.

As a Train Manager, you will support GBRf in delivering a safe, reliable, and top-tier service. Your responsibilities include liaising with Rail Operators, Signallers, and Contractors to meet customer requirements and ensure trains arrive on time.

This shift-based role requires a flexible attitude, with an average 34.5-hour week. Shifts vary and include nights, especially in freight operations.

  • Current freight train driving experience is essential.
  • Candidates must have a satisfactory safety record and a valid UK driving licence.
  • Desirable: extensive route and traction knowledge within the area.
  • Proficient with IT packages such as Word, Outlook, and downloading applications on iPads.
  • Safety-conscious with a calm attitude in emergencies.
  • Excellent concentration, observational skills, and professional communication.
  • Customer-focused with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Applicants must reside within 45 minutes of the work location.
  • Possession of a UK/EU Train Driver Licence is required.
