Job summary

Sewell Wallis Ltd is partnering with a Sheffield-based charity to recruit a Part-Time Finance Manager. The role offers flexible 14 hours per week with scope for additional hours during busy periods.

You will oversee day-to-day finance, produce MI, and forecast income from diverse funding sources in collaboration with the CEO, Treasurer and Trustees. The role requires an AAT qualification and charity sector experience, with a focus on robust financial procedures, budgeting, and reporting.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification with proven experience in charity finance.
• Experience working in the charity sector.
• Experience managing grant and contract funding across multi-funded projects.
• Proven track record overseeing a finance function and working with Senior Leadership Teams and Trustees.

Responsibilities

• Manage and continually develop financial procedures and recording systems using QuickBooks to meet funders' requirements.
• Liaise with the Treasurer to support effective financial management.
• Prepare and maintain the annual budget with the CEO and Treasurer.
• Produce regular financial reports for SLT, Management Team and Treasurer.
• Prepare financial documentation for external accountants and the Independent Examination.
• Review and update the charity's Reserves Policy with the CEO and Trustees.
• Manage day-to-day financial activities (bank reconciliations, invoices, petty cash, payroll, pensions, expenses).
• Ensure internal controls and procedures are followed and maintain audit trails.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems and processes; keep up to date with accounting standards.
