Harris Hill is recruiting for a Part Time Finance Manager for the Community Based Charity based in London

• Job Title: Finance Manager
• Responsible to: Director of Finance
• Hybrid Working: Most days are based at their offices in Central London
• Working Hours: 3 days weekly (22.5 hrs/0.60 FTE, Completely Flexible) with occasional additional paid days to meet workload peaks
• Salary: Actual £27,000 to £28,500 pa (FTE £45,000 to £47,500pa)
• Managing: 3 Part-time Finance Assistants

Overall Responsibility

To support the Director of Finance by managing the day-to-day accounting and transaction processing for the organization and its trading subsidiary. Take direct responsibility for Payroll and VAT, ensuring high standards and accuracy with the assistance of a small Finance Team.

Detailed Responsibilities:

1. Integrity of Prime Transactions: Maintain accurate accounting records of all transactions using QuickBooks Online (or any replacement system), ensuring routines and procedures are followed to meet reporting deadlines.
2. Monthly Payroll: Process payroll for fixed salaries and variable wages, manage payments and payslips, report and pay HMRC monthly and annually, and handle pension contributions and employee deductions.
3. VAT: Reconcile, complete, and submit quarterly/annual VAT returns, liaise with HMRC, and advise internally on VAT issues.
4. Fixed Assets: Maintain and reconcile Fixed Asset schedules quarterly with the General Ledger.
5. Control Accounts: Reconcile control accounts monthly and quarterly, resolving discrepancies.
6. Internal Control: Ensure segregation of duties within the finance team and that all transactions are authorized and compliant with company policies.
