NWACC is seeking qualified applicants to establish a pool for part-time and/or substitute instructors in this discipline. Applications will be kept on file for the fiscal year ending June 30. When a position becomes available, the hiring department will review the applications on file. After each fiscal year end, the application will expire, and a new application must be completed to remain in the applicant pool.
Studio Art courses are a vital part of the art/graphic design program. The department offers courses in drawing, oil painting, watermedia, sculpture, ceramics, figure drawing, introduction to studio art, and photography. Additionally, lecture courses include Art Appreciation, Art History, History of Photography, and Graphic Design. The current growth needs are in drawing, figure drawing, and ceramics, with future opportunities in other media areas.

Rate of pay: $730 per credit hour
Experience teaching at a community college and understanding its mission are advantageous. Demonstrated teaching ability is a top priority. Experience with classroom instruction and online learning management systems like Canvas is highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with experience or interest in project-based, service learning, or inquiry-based learning.
The work environment is typically moderate noise. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities. Physical activities include manipulating items with fingers, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, repetitive motion, and talking. Visual acuity is required for tasks such as data analysis, transcribing, and computer work.
Required: Master's Degree in Art
Preferred: College/post-secondary teaching experience
