NorthWest Arkansas Community College is seeking qualified applicants to establish a pool for part-time and/or substitute instructors in this discipline. Applications will be kept on file for the fiscal year ending June 30. When a position becomes available, the hiring department will review the applications on file. After each fiscal year-end, the application will expire, and a new application must be completed to remain in the applicant pool.
Art Appreciation is a general introduction to art and an educational elective. Subject matter includes:
The Art Department offers courses in Art Appreciation, Art History, History of Photography, Graphic Design, drawing, oil painting, watermedia, sculpture, ceramics, figure drawing, introduction to studio art, and photography.

Rate of pay: $765 per credit hour
Experience teaching at a community college and understanding its mission is a plus. Demonstrated teaching ability is the top priority. Instructional experience in a classroom and familiarity with online learning management systems like Canvas or similar are highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with experience or interest in online delivery, technology-enhanced instruction, and project-based, service learning, or inquiry-based learning.
The work environment is typically moderate noise. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Employees may frequently manipulate items with fingers, sit, stand, and walk, and constantly hear, perform repetitive motions, and talk. Close visual acuity is required for activities such as data analysis, transcribing, computer work, extensive reading, and visual inspection.
A Master's Degree in Art or Art History is required.
Teaching experience at the college/post-secondary level is preferred.
