Your role as an EYFS Teacher
As an EYFS Teacher, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subject(s) that you teach.
- Be responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes, and pastoral arrangements as appropriate.
- Be accountable for the attainment, progress, and outcomes of pupils you teach.
- Establish a safe, purposeful, and stimulating environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect, and establish a framework for discipline with a range of strategies, using praise, sanctions, and rewards consistently and fairly.
- Manage classes effectively, using approaches appropriate to pupils’ needs, to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
- Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary.
- Participate in relevant meetings and professional development opportunities at the school, related to learners, curriculum, or organization of the school, including pastoral arrangements and assemblies.
- Work as a team member and identify opportunities for collaboration and sharing effective practices with colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with others to develop effective professional relationships.
- Deploy support staff effectively as appropriate.
- Regularly review the effectiveness of your teaching and assessment procedures and their impact on pupils’ progress, attainment, and well-being, refining approaches as needed based on feedback.
- Take responsibility for improving your teaching through participation in training and development opportunities identified by the school or as part of your appraisal.
What you will need to apply for this part-time EYFS Class Teaching job in Hillingdon
- Have qualified teacher status.
- Evidence of successful teaching experience in the Primary and/or Foundation Stage, in post or on placement, and the potential to demonstrate outstanding classroom practice.
- An understanding of managing planning, assessment, and record keeping, and how this affects pupil progress.
