Job summary

The Independent Schools Council is seeking dedicated part-time Exams Invigilators to supervise internal and external examinations in accordance with approved procedures. Training will be provided, and duties include preparing venues, supervising candidates, and ensuring exam integrity.

Shifts are day-time, with morning sessions around 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and afternoon sessions around 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Interviews will be conducted from late September.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with staff and pupils clearly.
• Ability to work to agreed instructions either as part of a team, or alone as agreed.
• Common sense and initiative, as well as appreciation for the need for confidentiality.
• Reliability and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the exam hall per JCQ requirements and seat candidates with papers and materials.
• Monitor candidates to ensure adherence to exam regulations.
• Record start/finish times and complete attendance registers.
• Handle late arrivals and candidate departures per regulations.
• Assist in packing scripts and preparing venues for subsequent sessions.
