Job summary

Gower College Swansea in Gorseinon is seeking an Hourly Paid Engineering Technician. The role is part-time (casual hours) and permanent, offering £13.59 per hour to support maintenance and repairs of teaching resources, while reporting defects that affect health and safety.

Candidates should have Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field (or be willing to work toward it), IT literacy, and a strong commitment to Health & Safety.

Qualifications

• Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant field or prepared to work towards it (e.g. machinist or welder/plater).
• IT skills, including spreadsheets or willingness to be trained.
• Commitment to Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance and repairs of teaching resources; report defects affecting health and safety or resources.
• Assist in purchasing and gathering quotes and resources; manage procurement within budget and track stock.
• Prepare teaching aids approved by the team to provide varied learning experiences; communicate progress in team meetings.
