Job summary

Downside School is seeking a self-employed part-time teacher to deliver drum kit and tuned percussion tuition to pupils aged 11–18. The role includes leading percussion ensembles and coordinating related co-curricular activities within the Music Department.

We welcome applicants with a proven track record of teaching in schools and a strong musical performance background. The position is self-employed with hours that vary term-to-term and invoicing directly to parents or guardians.

Qualifications

• Experience of delivering instrumental tuition to a range of abilities.
• Proven track record of teaching in schools or similar settings.
• Ability to lead/co-ordinate percussion ensembles.

Responsibilities

• Teach c.5–7 hours per week of individual drum kit and tuned percussion tuition.
• Lead or support percussion ensembles and related co-curricular activities.
• Invoicing and admin as a self-employed teacher.
