Job description

This part-time driver role at Elysium Healthcare's Adderley Green facility in Stoke-on-Trent offers a competitive annual salary of £25,058 pro rata, along with a range of benefits including free meals, parking, wellbeing support, and career development opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting patients, staff, and visitors, as well as maintaining the fleet of vehicles.

Main duties of the job

As a driver for Adderley Green, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the service by transporting your team and service users to a variety of locations within the community. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on teamwork and support, to help residents achieve their rehabilitation goals. The role also involves maintaining the vehicles, keeping them clean and well-fueled, and reporting any issues promptly.

Job responsibilities

There’s more to being a driver than simply sitting behind the wheel. As a driver for Adderley Green, you will be ensuring the service runs smoothly as you transport your team and service users to a variety of locations within the community and are collected on time.

Working alongside the team at Adderley Green, there is a large emphasis on teamwork and support. You will be encouraged to reach your full potential and will have the opportunity to develop your skillset as you will support other departments within the hospital including Administration and security checks.

As a Driver, you will be responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, and record-keeping of the vehicle. You will have a clean and full UK driving license for at least 2 years. You will work 30 hours a week and work a varietyof shift patterns including some late nights and alternate weekends whereneeded.

As a Driver you will:

• Drive patients and staff to a variety of different locations, ensuring that the journey is completed in a safe and timely manner, using the most efficient route.
• Drive staff and other visitors to/from the unit as required by the Line Manager. Collect and delivers consumables or assets for the Unit during periods of the day when not involved in other activities.
• Ensure that the Hospital vehicles are cleaned regularly, maintained correctly and safely and that any damage or faults are dealt with immediately.
• Ensure that vehicles arefuelledat all times and record-keeping is kept up to date and available when requested

You will be working at Adderley Green, a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries.

The extensive facilities cater for the specific needs of people aged over 18 years who have complex neurological care and rehabilitation requirements. You will working alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver truly person-centred services where each individual is at the heart of everything.

Adderley Green offers a full inter disciplinary team to support and enable residents to undergo reviews of their specific and/or changing needs and work towards targeted and monitored goals utilising nationally recognised outcome measures.

• To be successful in this role, you will need a clean full UK driving license, a track record of safe driving, strong teamwork skills, and a positive, caring attitude. You should also be self-motivated and flexible, with a willingness to work a variety of shift patterns, including some late nights and alternate weekends.
