Join our award-winning Abbeyview Surgery team as a part-time Dispenser, dedicated to providing excellent patient-centred care. You'll handle prescriptions, engage with patients, ensure accurate dispensing, and support pharmacy operations, all while contributing to a collaborative team ethos.

We are looking for a part-time Dispenser (circa 20 hours per week) to join our team in the Abbeyview Surgery.
The position offers 6 weeks holiday, pro-rata, together with Bank Holidays and inclusion in the NHS pension scheme.
To provide accurate and efficient dispensing of prescriptions in accordance with standard operating procedures. Dispensing and labelling prescriptions accurately, safely and in a timely fashion. Maintaining accurate manual and computer records. Communicating with other members of the pharmacy team, customers, and patients to solve problems and ensure high standards of service. Supporting optimal stock management including date checking.
To effectively handle prescriptions and associated interactions with patients, ensuring a positive and professional user experience, by: communicating with and assisting patients, their representatives face-to-face, over the telephone, or by electronic methods in a polite and efficient manner. Working within the limits of knowledge, skills, and responsibilities and making appropriate referrals to other members of the dispensary team in accordance with standard operating procedures. Receiving prescriptions from patients, their representatives, and Practice staff and obtaining information to enable the dispensing team to safely prepare medicines. Taking payments in cash and electronically, and confirming entitlement to exemption. Handing out dispensed medicines and providing appropriate counselling to patients or their representatives about their medicines within the limits of knowledge and competency. Maintaining accurate records of transactions and filing prescriptions.
Abbeyview Surgery is a semi-rural, part-dispensing Practice serving circa 9,100 patients in Crowland, Lincolnshire. We are CQC Outstanding and our team has won several awards for patient care locally and nationally.

There may also be a requirement to undertake other similar duties as part of this post in order to provide a quality service. These will be consistent with the level of responsibilities outlined above.
