An exciting new opportunity has arisen within the School of Art and Design for a part-time Digital Fabrication Learning Assistant. This role will support students with technical and practical activities and maintain the digital workshop space.
The School of Art & Design has over students across various creative disciplines. It is vital that students' skills reflect industry demands, including digital fabrication technologies.
We seek a motivated individual with knowledge of digital fabrication technologies, such as CNC machining, 3D printing (FDM & SLA), and laser cutting. Assistance may also be needed for broader art and design tasks. The position is part-time, working 3 days a week with flexible scheduling.
Your responsibilities include setting up and maintaining equipment, supporting students with practical work, and ensuring all tools and materials are well-managed. Experience with operating CNC machines, 3D printers, and laser cutters is essential, along with familiarity with related software and digital technologies.
You will help students develop employability skills by sharing your expertise and supporting their practical projects.
The successful candidate will join a dedicated team within a large department committed to high performance.
