Job summary

FirstPort is seeking a Visiting Development Manager in Ferndown to provide customer-centred management of the development. You will perform daily safety checks, oversee contractor works, and help foster resident communities while coordinating with partner services and internal teams.

The role requires strong communication, health and safety awareness, and the ability to build relationships with residents and professionals.

Qualifications

• Customer service excellence, face-to-face preferred.
• Strong communication and issue-resolution skills.
• Understanding of health & safety practices and incident handling.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems.
• Organised, methodical with accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around the development/office and ensure residents are checked within requirements.
• Carry out daily checks to ensure the building is safe and secure; manage records and contractors.
• Be responsible for works, raise orders, monitor progress and sign off completion.
• Encourage residents to form a Residents Association and support social activities to enhance community.
• Build links with residents' families, local authorities and health professionals as appropriate.
• In emergencies, contact the appropriate response teams or authorities.
• Assist with Sales listed with Retirement Homesearch and help new residents settle in.
• Collaborate with local Development Managers and attend team/company meetings.
