Job summary

Bettys Cookery School in Harrogate is seeking a Course Assistant to help deliver an exceptional customer experience by preparing refreshments and cooking a high-quality hot lunch within tight timescales.

You will work with a small team, preparing ingredients, course materials and recipe batches, and help manage the Cookery School shop. The role supports tutors and aims to exceed Bettys’ service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and understanding that the customer is at the heart of everything we do.
• Good understanding of food safety and health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare refreshments and independently cook a high-quality hot lunch within a tight timescale.
• Prepare ingredients, course materials and recipe batches for customers.
• Look after the Cookery School shop and process customer purchases and transactions on the day.
• Support the Tutor during courses, providing assistance whenever needed.
• Ensure every customer receives outstanding service that reflects Bettys’ standards.
