Job summary

New College Swindon is seeking a Criminology Lecturer to join our Sixth team and deliver the Level 3 Applied Diploma in Criminology. This fixed-term post runs until June 2027 and covers 18.5 hours per week, with the opportunity to inspire students through evidence-based enquiry.

You will plan engaging lessons, monitor student progress, support coursework and contribute to curriculum development while upholding equality, safeguarding and an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Humanities or related subject.
• Level 5 teaching qualification or working towards one.
• Level 2 English and Maths.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Criminology lessons.
• Monitor, assess and report on student progress and attendance.
• Support students with coursework, assessment and controlled assessments.
• Develop learning materials and activities that help students apply their knowledge.
• Maintain accurate registers and student records.
• Contribute to moderation, standardisation and quality assurance activities.
• Contribute to curriculum development and the wider Sixth team.
• Promote high expectations and positive attitudes towards learning.
