Job summary

Priory is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the eating disorders unit at Priory Hospital Preston, Bartle near Preston. Part-time 22.5 hours per week with pro rata salary £108,528.

The role focuses on patient recovery, assessment and tailored treatment plans with dignity and high standards of care. You'll provide clinical leadership, lead ward rounds, risk assessments and act as Responsible Clinician for detained patients.

Qualifications

• MRCPsych (or equivalent) and CCT with GMC Specialist Register eligibility.
• Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.
• Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and overall responsibility for patient care.
• Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk assessments, strategic reviews, and therapeutic planning.
• Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
• Oversee referrals, admissions, and contribute to pre-admission assessments.
• Provide specialist psychiatric expertise to multidisciplinary assessment, formulation, and treatment planning.
