Job summary

Philosophy Education in Maidstone, Kent, is seeking a Computer Science Teacher for a part-time role (0.4 FTE), two days per week, with MPS/UPS pay scale, starting September 2026 or ASAP. KS3 & KS4 delivery with KS5 where appropriate is encouraged, supporting pupil progression within a warm, collaborative school environment.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or UK teaching qualification.
• Has a degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
• Experience teaching Computer Science in a secondary school.
• Can teach KS3/KS4 and GCSE where appropriate.
• Strong subject knowledge and safeguarding commitment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging CS lessons across KS3/KS4, with KS5 where appropriate.
• Deliver well-organised lessons that support a range of abilities.
• Develop pupils' knowledge, confidence and understanding of CS.
• Use diverse teaching strategies and assessments to track progress.
• Assess pupils regularly and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain high classroom expectations and behaviour management.
• Collaborate with CS department colleagues.
• Communicate pupil progress with parents/carers and stakeholders.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community.
