Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting is representing a long-standing client in the Penzance area. They seek an experienced Bookkeeper on a part-time basis (circa 18 hours/week), with Monday commitment and a salary guide of circa £35,500 FTE.

The role involves managing the finance function using Sage, producing management accounts with commentary, and collaborating with external accountants for year-end and audits. AAT qualification preferred.

Qualifications

• End-to-end accounting experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ideally part/fully AAT qualified.
• Strong IT aptitude with excellent Sage and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of the finance function using Sage-based accounting systems.
• Take lead responsibility for the production of management accounts with accompanying commentary.
• Work closely with external accountants in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts, financial statements and annual audit.
• VAT reporting.
• Financial analysis.
• Assisting with monthly payroll and pension processing.
• Management of accounts payable and receivable.
• Lead role in reconciliations, prepayments and accruals.
• Support quarterly reviews and annual budgets with directors.
• Identify areas for improving financial performance of specific divisions.

Part Time Company Bookkeeper – Penzance area - Circa: £35,500 FTE

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively reengaged by a long standing client, a highly successful and most unique manufacturing business that supply products to customers throughout the UK. The business is well established and has enjoyed considerable year-on-year growth with continued expansion realistically forecast. The company now seeks to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper, a permanent position offered on a part time working contract circa 18 hours per week. There will be a degree of flexibility around working patterns but it is essential that the successful candidate is able to commit to working each Monday.

Working closely with the Managing Director and senior management team,this will be a pivotal rolethat would be well suited to a highly commercial Bookkeeper that will contribute to the continued growth of the company.

For this role we’re searching for an experienced Bookkeeper or perhaps an Assistant Accountant looking to step-up, with solid end-to-end accounting experience, ideally (though not essentially), gained within a fast paced manufacturing environment. Applicant’s will ideally be part/fully AAT qualified as a minimum, but those with demonstrable vocational experience will be given equal consideration. The business promotes a modern working environment making the most of current technology; this role would suit a candidate with strong IT aptitude and excellent skills in the use of Sage, MS Excel and bespoke digital accounting tools.
