We are currently recruiting for a Community Engagement Officer to help with the implementation of Platform’s Customer & Community Engagement Strategy. As a Community Engagement Officer, you will work closely with customers to build strong and safe communities by organizing and developing a wide range of community engagement activities and projects.

This role will require travel around a geographical area including Stratford-Upon-Avon, West Oxfordshire, West Northamptonshire, Stroud, Cheltenham, and Gloucester. While this role is home-based, a full UK driving license and ability to travel across the area are essential. Business mileage expenses are reimbursed from your home address as per HMRC mileage rates.

This is a part-time role working 17.5 hours per week.

What you can expect from the role

You will engage with communities through meetings and outreach work to identify local issues and collaborate on solutions. By understanding community needs, you will support and manage community programs to promote a healthy and happy environment. You will organize and develop community engagement activities aligned with our strategic objectives.

Teamwork is central at Platform Housing Group, involving collaboration not only with customers but also with local authorities, community partners, and stakeholders.

What we are looking for in you

  • Experience in community-based roles or supporting projects aimed at community growth.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with customers and external stakeholders.
  • An understanding of social housing challenges and our organizational values.
  • Ability to identify new engagement opportunities with communities.
  • Experience empowering communities to find solutions is advantageous.
  • A DBS check will be required before employment.
  • Must have a driving license and access to a vehicle, with regular travel expected within the community area.
