Job summary

Wotton-under-Edge Town Council is seeking a part-time Caretaker to help keep our buildings clean, safe and ready for community use. The role is 5 hours per week with evening meetings and some weekend work, based at The Civic Centre in Wotton-under-Edge.

You will be hands-on, focused on cleaning, basic maintenance, room setup and supporting events. You’ll act as a keyholder, perform routine checks, replenish supplies and assist hirers and visitors as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, cleaning, or basic building maintenance
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Friendly, professional manner when interacting with the public
• Reliability, punctuality and pride in maintaining community spaces
• Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

• Hands-on role focused on cleaning, basic maintenance, room setup and supporting events.
• Act as a keyholder, carry out routine checks, replenish supplies and assist hirers and visitors when needed.
• Help set up and pack away furniture and equipment, keep indoor and outdoor areas tidy.
• Support the Estates team with practical tasks.
