Job summary

Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Clinical Research Nurse/Practitioner (CRP) to join the Research and Innovation team on a part-time basis (24 hours per week).

The post will coordinate a portfolio of trials across specialist services, identify eligible participants, support informed consent, and ensure compliant study conduct under ICH-GCP and UK regulations. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating clinical research studies across various specialties.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and research governance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the research-related care of participants enrolled in designated studies.
• Identify potentially eligible participants through clinics and referrals.
• Provide clear study information to patients and obtain informed consent where trained.
• Coordinate protocol-required assessments, investigations, sample collection, treatment and follow-up.
• Collect, process, store and dispatch biological samples per study protocols.
• Monitor participants for adverse events and ensure safety information is documented and reported on time.
• Maintain accurate source documentation, case report forms and electronic study systems.
• Maintain inspection-ready study documentation and support monitoring visits, audits and inspections.
• Lead study feasibility, setup and initiation with principal investigators, sponsors and departments.
• Monitor recruitment performance and identify barriers to improve patient access and study delivery.
• Promote research awareness among clinical teams.
• Deliver studies in accordance with the approved protocol and ICH GCP.
