Job summary

YMCA Robin Hood Group in Nottingham is seeking a Part Time Residential Care Worker to join a not-for-profit charity running homes for children aged 5–18. You’ll work in a team to care for children 24/7, create a safe, nurturing home, and provide therapeutic support for trauma.

We offer a 6‑month training plan, funded Level 4 Residential Childcare, monthly supervision, and a clear career pathway. The role requires a flexible rota including long days, evenings, sleep-ins and weekends; driving

Qualifications

• Resilience to support children through challenging days.
• Calm, consistent approach to behaviours and routines.
• Compassionate, able to build trust and attachments.
• Confident in handling challenges and advocacy.
• Flexibility for rota including evenings and weekends.
• Full UK driving license is essential.
• Enhanced DBS with child barred list or eligible for update service.
