Job Title: Part-Time Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

We are a dynamic and growing back office services provider for the insurance sector, offering specialist support to brokers, MGAs, and underwriters. Our mission is to streamline operational processes, improve compliance, and deliver best-in-class support so our clients can focus on underwriting and sales. As we continue to scale, we are seeking a commercially-minded Part-Time CFO to lead our financial strategy and ensure robust financial governance.

Role Overview:

As Part-Time CFO, you will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing financial planning, risk management, and strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for a finance leader with experience in insurance or financial services who thrives in a hands-on, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes

Provide strategic financial insight to support growth, profitability, and risk management

Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital allocation

Oversee financial compliance, audit, and regulatory reporting

Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies

Liaise with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, and investors

Support pricing models and financial analysis for new services or client contracts

Mentor and support the finance team (including outsourced partners, if applicable)

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)

Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or senior finance leader in the insurance or financial services sector

Strong grasp of financial regulation and compliance (UK-based insurance knowledge preferred)

Experience in a scale-up, SME, or part-time CFO environment

Commercial mindset with the ability to balance strategic and operational finance

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively within a small senior team
