Job summary

British Garden Centres is looking for a skilled Chef/Cook at our Diss location. The role is part time, 16 hours per week including weekends, with no evenings. You will prepare and cook meals to a high standard, handle deliveries, and create specials while maintaining portion control and waste management.

The successful candidate will follow HACCP guidelines and work calmly under pressure in a busy kitchen, earning a negotiable rate based on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a busy kitchen.
• Creative at making dishes but also able to follow specs.
• Experience of cooking carvery is an advantage.
• Knowledge of HACCP.
• Able to manage multiple orders.
• Professionalism and reliability.
• Remain calm under pressure.
• Good time management.
• Level 3 basic food hygiene is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• The taking of deliveries.
