Job summary

Bramley Health, a specialist health and social care provider, is looking for a Cook to join Shepherds Corner, West Croydon. This part-time role runs on Thursdays and Fridays, 9am–2pm, including bank holidays at an enhanced rate.

You will prepare nutritionally balanced meals, maintain HACCP standards, and manage kitchen stock while engaging with residents to reflect their food preferences. Previous food prep in a commercial or care setting is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must have Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate and previous experience of food preparation in a care or hospital setting.
  • Ability to communicate with vulnerable adults and colleagues clearly.
  • Willingness to learn about CQC/Care Standards and maintain HACCP compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare nutritious meals (lunch and dinner) following a menu plan while meeting residents' dietary needs.
  • Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory and stock rotation of kitchen supplies.
  • Utilise knowledge of HACCP and current food regulations.
  • Manage food ordering and interaction with service users to reflect food choices.

Job description

We are looking for a Cook, to work at Shepherds Corner, based in West Croydon. This is a part time role, working Thursday and Friday, 9am - 2pm including bank holidays (at an enhanced rate)

Duties of the Cook position include
  • Prepare nutritional meals (lunch and dinner), following a menu plan, whilst meeting the needs of our culturally and diet specific residents.
  • Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment
  • Utilise knowledge of HACCP and current food regulations
  • Management of food ordering and stock rotation
  • Interaction with Service Users to reflect their food choices
The successful Cook will have
  • Good and proven communication skills essential
  • Must be able to communicate verbally with vulnerable adults
  • Able to work under own initiative
  • Flexible with hours of work
  • Willingness to learn about CQC/Care Standards
  • Must have a minimum of Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate and previous experience of food preparation in a commercial/domestic/hospital setting.
