Job summary

Millhouse Primary School in Basildon is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant to join the busy school kitchen. Hours are 19:30 per week across 43.5 weeks per year, with term-time duties from 10:15 to 1:45 (Wednesday 9:00-2:30).

The role involves preparing and serving meals, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with dishwasher and setup. Desirable qualifications include Level 2 Food Safety and allergen knowledge; training will be provided if needed. DBS clearance and references are required.

Qualifications

• Desirable Level 2 Food Safety and allergen/cross-contamination qualification.
• Previous kitchen experience desirable; full training will be given if needed.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking high quality hot meals and desserts for pupils and staff.
• Serving meals to pupils following allergy processes.
• Setting up dining halls and equipment before lunch.
• Maintaining cleanliness through washing-up and dishwasher use.
• Clear-down of the kitchen and lunch hall after service.

We are looking for someone to join our busy school kitchen. This role involves;

• Preparing and cooking high quality hot meals and desserts for pupils and staff.
• Serving meals to the pupils following our allergy processes.
• Preparing for the lunch hour by setting up dining halls, setting out equipment and food.
• Maintaining our high standard of cleanliness through cleaning, washing-up of equipment and use of the dishwasher.
• Clear-down of the kitchen and lunch hall after service.

We are looking for a candidate that enjoys being a team member and is able to multi-task.

It would be desirable if you hold a level 2 Food Safety and allergen/cross-contamination qualification and have previous kitchen experience, however full training will be given if needed.
