Springcare Care Homes Ltd is seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join Bamford Grange Care Home on a 16-hour-per-week contract. You will perform a range of routine upkeep tasks to keep residents safe and comfortable.

The role requires hands-on skills in joinery, plumbing and decorating, a good safety mindset, and a willingness to learn. Full driving license preferred; training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Good all-round maintenance skills including joinery, plumbing and painting.
• Experience in a similar environment/role.
• Understanding of Health & Safety regulations and compliance.
• Physically fit and able to lift light items safely.
• Able to maintain and use handheld tools safely.
• Willing to attend training relevant to the role.
• Full driving license required.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs to doors, locks and other fittings.
• Carry out routine checks on equipment and services (fire alarms, extinguishers, fire doors).
• Minor plumbing and carpentry tasks.
• Paint and decorate as required.
• Keep exterior areas clean, tidy and free from trip hazards.
• Change light bulbs and manage stock of bulbs, batteries, and equipment.
• Check systems before weekends/bank holidays to ensure functionality.
• Provide meter readings for utilities and boilers.
