Job summary

VSA is seeking a motivated Support Worker to join the Care at Home team in Torry, Aberdeen. This part-time role operates on a fixed weekly rota, Sundays and Mondays, with early and late shifts. You will support service users at home, upholding dignity and independence while following VSA policies.

Applicants should be willing to progress with SCQF Level 6, registered with SSSC, and PVG compliant; prior care experience is preferred but not essential. Training is provided and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Willingness to achieve SCQF Level 6 within 3 years of appointment.
• Registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
• Membership of the PVG scheme.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with individuals and update records.
• Maintain a safe environment by following health, safety, and security procedures, including medication.
• Support service users in daily living, providing personal care where needed.
• Assist service users in developing and maintaining social networks and relationships.
• Help develop skills for independent living, with reference to risk assessment.
• Participate in developing, implementing and reviewing personal plans.
• Support service users during significant life changes or loss.
• Engage in training and development to improve knowledge and practice.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks and work within internal control systems.
