Futura Design Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a CAD/CAM Programmer to join the team on a 30-hour part-time week, with shifts 16:00-22:00 Monday-Thursday and 10:00-16:00 on Fridays. You will support CAD design and CAM programming, and work with CNC machinists and inspection to ensure high-quality outputs.

You will also liaise between engineering, production and customers, manage timelines, contribute to RFQs, and help drive cost-effective production through continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience with CAD design and modelling workflows.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools and related software.

Responsabilités

• Support all CAD design and modelling efforts for the business.
• Collaborate with customer design teams to interpret and optimise 3D models.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to support CAM programming requirements.
• Develop and refine toolpaths and machining strategies when required.
• Contribute to process improvements by aligning CAD design intent with CAM requirements.
• Programme, set and operate 3 and 5 axis CNC machinery to produce results.
• Support the workflow from design to final production ensuring safety and quality.
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation and cost reduction while maintaining quality.
• Participate in multiple projects ensuring budgets, schedules, and customer expectations.
• Correct errors in programs or settings and verify Grade A production.
