Job summary

Dundee Carers Centre is seeking a compassionate support worker to assist a deaf gentleman who communicates using British Sign Language at level 2 or higher. The role is based in Dundee and involves 4 hours 20 minutes weekly across Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, with some flexibility.

You will help with travelling to medical appointments, arranging interpreters, shopping, and community activities. Personal care is not routine, but you may be in the home during showers for safety; you must be

Qualifications

• British Sign Language level 2 minimum required.

Responsibilities

• Support with travelling to medical appointments and ensure interpreter is arranged.
• Assist with booking medical appointments and attending appointments.
• Help with shopping and reading product labels.
• Support to go out into the community, including bus travel.
• Be present at home during showers if seizure safety is needed.
