Job summary

University of Bristol Botanic Garden seeks a motivated horticulturist to maintain and develop its plant collections outdoors and in glasshouses. You will support seasonal work, safety training, and engage volunteers, students and the public throughout the year.

The role involves working as part of a duty rota for weekend care, supporting Botanic Garden festivals and expanding opening hours in summer months.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 horticulture qualification or higher.
• At least 3 years of industry experience, including work with glasshouse collections.
• Ability to work with volunteers, students, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Horticultural maintenance and development of plant collections outdoors and in glasshouses.
• Seasonal horticultural work and operational activities including health & safety training.
• Engagement with volunteers, students and the public; support Botanic Garden festivals and extended opening hours.
