Job summary

Pear Recruitment is seeking a Part-Time Block Manager in Islington to support the current Block Manager with the management and maintenance of around 20 residential blocks. The role involves coordinating repairs, inspections, budgets, and liaising with residents and contractors in a busy North London environment.

The ideal candidate will have prior block/property management experience, be highly organised, proactive, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Block Management, property management, or a related field.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in using property management software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the management and maintenance of approximately 20 blocks.
• Arranging repairs, maintenance, and planned works.
• Conducting regular property inspections and ensuring communal areas are well maintained.
• Preparing and managing service charge budgets.
• Working with contractors, obtaining quotations, and overseeing major works.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, fire risk assessments, and statutory requirements.
• Liaising with Lease holders, residents, and contractors to resolve issues promptly.
• Managing insurance claims and ensuring appropriate building insurance is in place.
• Handling complaints and providing excellent customer service.
• Maintaining accurate property records and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
