Job summary

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is seeking a school cleaner to provide high standards of cleaning across school premises in Aberdare. The post is temporary for 28 weeks, with 10 hours per week and a term-time pattern, starting 01 September 2026.

The role requires DBS clearance and training, with COSHH and health and safety compliance expected. Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, corridors, toilets, offices, staff rooms, halls and sports areas, using cleaning equipment safely

Qualifications

• DBS clearance required for role.
• Training in cleaning and hygiene will be provided.
• COSHH and infection control awareness beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Clean designated internal areas of the school (classrooms, corridors, toilets, offices, staff rooms, halls, sports areas).
• Carry out daily cleaning tasks and maintain high standards of hygiene.
• Sanitise toilets, sinks, floors, and surfaces to a safe level.
• Use cleaning equipment safely, including vacuums and scrubber dryers.
• Follow COSHH, infection control and health and safety procedures.
• Report issues and attend training sessions.
