Job description

Part Time (4 days per week) 7.5t Customer Delivery Driver - (Tewkesbury) - £27,816 p.a. + benefits.

As part of a two-person delivery team, our Customer Delivery Drivers will deliver mattresses, bed frames, and furniture products into customers' homes and may help to assemble the products in their room of choice, being a key representative of the Bensons brand.

Working 4 days each week - Rotating weekly, Monday to Thursday then Tuesday to Friday.

Are you a friendly, customer-focused 7.5tonne driver with experience in home deliveries and lifting heavy goods?

This is not just a driving role. You will be the face of our business, so having excellent customer service skills and the ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy items of furniture every day, with manual handling experience, is essential. We take pride in ensuring our customers receive their delivery to a room of their choice with a first-class, friendly service.

7.5 tonne Customer Delivery Driver - Tewkesbury - £27,816 p.a. + benefits. OTE £31,464 p.a.

Bonus Scheme:
We offer a performance-related bonus of up to £76 per week for meeting targets. The targets include Microlise driving style, NPS, stock loss, and bed frame assembly. We understand that joining a new company comes with additional learning; therefore, for the first 12 weeks with us whilst you are onboarding, we will support you with a guaranteed performance-related bonus of £16 each week for 12 weeks.

So, what will you do?

• Lift and manoeuvre customers' orders including beds, mattresses, and/or bedroom furniture to the room of the customer's choice as part of a 2-man delivery team, ensuring the home is left clean and tidy.
• Engage all customers by communicating in a warm, friendly, and professional manner, ensuring they are left with a positive impression of our service, championing Bensons products, and delivering a great customer experience.
• Complete your deliveries on time, to schedule, and ensure customers are left happy by keeping them informed by calling ahead.
• Use the PDA scanner and complete paperwork to ensure customers' orders are delivered correctly, promptly, and accurately, working with warehouse and cross-dock teams as necessary to ensure products are loaded and delivered safely without damage.
• Support an environment and culture within Bensons for Beds where the customer is at the centre of everything we do.
• Ensure your vehicle is clean and fit for the next delivery to represent Bensons in our communities, monitoring for roadworthiness and reporting any defects, ensuring compliance with all transport legal requirements.

Who do we want?

• You must have a UK driving licence Cat C1 along with a valid driver’s CPC DQ card / valid drivers digital card.
• Previous commercial driving experience in a 7.5t vehicle.
• Previous experience and understanding of using digital tachographs.
• Good people skills and some previous experience in a customer-facing role.
• Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy items of furniture with manual handling experience is essential.
• Understanding of EU Driving legislation and tachograph law.
• Desirable experience of using a PDA.
• Please note that for insurance purposes, you should be aged 21 years or over.
