Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced English Tutor to provide individualised 1:1 tuition in Halton, starting October 2026. This ongoing role offers 5–15 hours per week to support a learner's reading, writing and comprehension.

The ideal candidate will have strong English knowledge, teaching or tutoring experience with children or young people, excellent communication, and flexibility to adapt lessons to the learner's needs; a relevant teaching qualification or tutoring experience is

Qualifications

• Strong subject knowledge in English.
• Experience teaching or tutoring children or young people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Creative and adaptable approach to teaching.
• Experience supporting learners with additional needs desirable.
• Relevant teaching qualification or tutoring experience desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Two professional child-related references.

Responsibilities
