Reporting to the Manager UK & HQ Financial Accounting, this individual is responsible for providing financial accounting services and meeting UK statutory reporting requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare statutory accounts with supporting schedules for external audits. Liaise with auditors and coordinate responses. Post UK GAAP adjustments in SAP.
  • Participate in year-end SOX audits, prepare schedules, and respond to KPMG queries. Coordinate documentation requests from Europe.
  • Ensure timely internal monthly reporting to US headquarters, including legal and environmental reserves, JV analysis.
  • Perform month-end close activities: accruals, amortisations, intercompany settlements, currency revaluations, joint venture accounting, and ad hoc journals.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, follow up on open items.
  • Review SAP accounting entries and variances monthly, including lease accounting.
  • Support ad hoc statutory and analytical work.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Degree educated
  • Studying for ACCA or similar
  • Experience with FRS102 statutory reporting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask, manage time, and meet deadlines in high-pressure environments
  • Intermediate Excel & SAP skills; Thomson Reuters OneSource experience preferred
