Job summary

Wise Monkey Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Part-Qualified Accountant with practice experience to join a growing accountancy team. This hands-on, client-facing role is ideal for someone actively studying ACCA/ACA (or equivalent).

You will gain exposure to a varied client portfolio, preparing statutory accounts, VAT returns, and assisting with tax compliance while developing with senior team members. A full study support package is available where applicable.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA/ACA or equivalent, actively studying.
• Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
• Experience using Xero or Sage accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Confident, professional communication and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Assist with management accounts and financial reporting.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Support personal and corporate tax compliance work.
• Liaise with clients to obtain and clarify financial information.
• Assist with bookkeeping and day-to-day accounting duties.
• Support senior team on client assignments.

Part-Qualified Accountant (Practice Experience Required)

We are working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice who are looking to appoint a Part-Qualified Accountant to join their friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone actively studying towards ACCA/ACA (or equivalent) who is keen to build on their existing practice experience and continue developing in a hands‑on, client‑facing role.

The Role

You’ll gain exposure across a varied client portfolio and work closely with both clients and senior accountants. Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Assisting with management accounts and financial reporting
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Supporting personal and corporate tax compliance work
• Liaising directly with clients to obtain and clarify financial information
• Assisting with bookkeeping and wider day‑to‑day accounting duties
• Supporting senior team members on a range of client assignments

About You

Our client is looking for someone who is motivated, detail‑focused, and keen to progress within practice. You will ideally have:

• Part‑qualified status (ACCA/ACA or equivalent) and actively studying
• Or be QBE
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice (essential)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or similar
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Confident communication skills with a professional approach
• The ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
